Where we operate
UruguayThe most predictable jurisdiction in South America.
Uruguay is rarely the cheapest country. It is the most stable — and for those who have already built wealth, stability is the variable that decides.
Institutional predictability
A consolidated democracy, a functional judiciary and rules that do not change with each political cycle. You plan in years, not months.
Clean international reputation
Uruguayan structures pass through banks, counterparties and audits without the friction that other jurisdictions in the region produce.
Solid financial system
A consolidated banking tradition, natural operation in multiple currencies and full exchange freedom.
Tax regime for new residents
Differentiated treatment for those who become tax residents — redesigned in 2026 and still relevant for the right profile.
Indicators
What the data shows
Who Uruguay makes the most sense for
- Families with consolidated wealth, focused on preservation and succession
- Investors who need a stable tax residency and international reputation
- Entrepreneurs operating in the region who need a credible base
- Retirees and rentiers who prioritize security, healthcare and peace of mind
- Those who intend to actually live in the country — not merely hold a formal tie
What Uruguay is not
We say this in the first conversation, and some clients rightly choose another country:
- It is not the cheapest destination in the region — cost of living is higher than its neighbors in several categories
- It does not have the lowest nominal tax burden in South America
- It is not a fast-growth economy — it is mature and moderate in pace
- It is not an opaque jurisdiction: it is transparent and internationally cooperative

FAQ about Uruguay
Do I have to live in Uruguay all year round?
It depends on the chosen path and the intended tax design. There are routes with different presence requirements — and that is precisely one of the decisions we define in the diagnosis, based on your real pattern of days spent abroad.
Does residency in Uruguay resolve my tax situation back home?
Not automatically. They are two independent systems: obtaining Uruguayan tax residency does not end your tax residency in your home country. Both fronts must be handled in a coordinated way and in the correct order.
How long does the full process take?
A well-advised family works with a horizon of six to twelve months until the situation is consolidated. Most of that time is not spent in Uruguay — it is in document preparation at home, which has its own validity deadlines.
Can a foreigner buy property in Uruguay?
Yes, with the same ownership rights as locals, and the Uruguayan registry is considered one of the most reliable in the region. The relevant decision is not whether you can, but in whose name to buy — which has a direct effect on taxation and succession.
Do you work remotely?
Most of the work is conducted remotely. The stages that require presence are planned in advance and concentrated, with support from our local team, translator and logistics.
Does Uruguay make sense for your case?
One conversation is enough to understand your objective and tell you candidly — even if the answer is another country.
